The List of Known Issues!

Today the guy who washes the Beast every morning turned up at the door blue-faced to tell me that the front wheel had a loose nut!!! I went to check and it was true. One of the nuts was only two full rotations away from falling off. Went straight to the tyre shop where they tightened and checked every other screw to make sure.

So the list is now created for all future owners to look out for these specific problems regarding the 2.2.! Please look for these problems before you take custody of your Beast!

  1. Loose battery cables.
  2. Pieces of Cardboard in the engine bay.
  3. Loose wheel nuts.

hi, Had been tracking your blogs with interest since I am also thinking of buying one..Took a test drive yesterday. had some observations and wanted to check with u if it is true for ur vehicle too.. The harshness between 1000 and 2000 Rpm is very much high and felt at the drivers seat...And then, on the clutch, one can feel the engine running...Is it true for ur vehicle too ? or is it only for the test vehicle I used...Please reply....-Anil D

Hi Anil,

No, I have never felt any harshness inside the cabin or in the drivers seat. In fact after about 500Kms the engine seems to be running even quieter than before and I have no excessive engine noise or vibration issues.

The clutch is also smooth and fine to work with.

Like you say probably the test vehicle was poorly tuned.

All the best with your New Truck!
