Change of Fuel - Suprising Result!

As you might know I have been driving the Beast on HP Turbojet since acquiring her. Yesterday had to fill up at the closest pump as the tank was almost empty after returning from the 2 day de-squeaking stint at the workshop. Filled up some BP normal diesel.

Today did about 50 kms with a mixture of highway and city run. The engine is sounding much better and noise levels have decreased. The feel is crisper and the vehicle feels more responsive after the change to normal diesel. I don't know if this is just in my head but the engine noise & vibration levels are definitely down.

I shall confirm this change to plain diesel with the Works Manager tomorrow and let you guys know. But as things stand today the ride with the plain fuel is much better.

What are your experiences with the different Brands of Diesel available today and what do you use?- do drop in a line. Thanks.

KingshukT (team-bhp)also reported a lesser noise level including that "krr" noise while sudden pickup on switching to normal diesel.

We await your conformation from the works manager.

I will also switch to normal diesel in my next fill. It seems better.

Hi Dadu,

Cannot get through to him at the moment hope to speak to him later today. I did have a chat with one of the other guys at the workshop a few days back and he mentioned the use of "Plain Diesel" as best for the 2.2 and the only other additive he recommended was "System D". So will probably go that way as it seems the engine has been tuned with Plain Diesel in mind.

Anyways will let you know for sure later today.

Any update ???

Yes, Normal Diesel it is. If at all you can use System D to keep the insides clean but it is recommended to use normal diesel for the Safari 2.2 VTT.

Hi p...

I don't get any untoward vibrations whilst gear changes up or down.

Please, get this checked ASAP.
