Blaupunkt RC-10 Remote - Installed!

As mentioned in an earlier post I got the Blaupunkt RC-10 installed today. Controlling the music system whilst driving has to be the worst activity for the driver of a TATA Safari. Life is now much easier. Have got a same day return trip to Mumbai coming up in a couple of days so this baby will get a lot of work coming its way. I shall update you guys on the user experience on my return.

Cost Rs.1900/-.

Next on the shopping list is this dude: The THB210A Active sub-woofer. ;-)

As I see it uses Infrared rays, so no cables.

But did it need any extra interfaces and/or configurations or was it a simple snap-in to the sterring and it starts working.

Hi dadu,

It does use IR but it still needs a receiver to be plugged in the back of the console. The remote will not control the system directly.

Also, because of the curvature of the remote it fits only on the right side of the steering, away from the head unit. The installation is a 15 minute job and the IR receiver sits nicely under the meters and the steering.

I shall post a pic soon so you get the idea.

when you go for a sub woofer i would advise you to stay away from the ones with a built in amp!
i hav two amps and two 12" subs installed in my safari and it literally shakes the autorickshaws in front of my vehicle at signal lights!
if you hav the money i suggest you go for 2 12" subs and two seperate amps!
also love the safary's electrical systems!my honda civics lights start dimming and it has only 1 sub!

Hi (-N-),

Thanks for the advice. Shall keep it in mind if I do go for subs. As of now am happy with just the speakers. Need every bit of boot space for long journey's with family.
